In New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta handed out internship appointment letters to 87 young talents on Monday. This marks the launch of the exciting Developed Delhi CM Internship Programme, a fresh step to groom future leaders and make democracy more lively and inclusive.
At the kickoff of a three-day orientation for the Delhi CM Internship Programme, Gupta shared that these interns stood out from a pool of 9,000 applicants through a fully transparent selection process. “This is the first time Delhi has rolled out such a youth-focused initiative,” she added. Gupta called it more than just an internship—it’s a key piece in building a stronger, new India.
She urged the young interns to bring fresh ideas and push for data-driven decisions across government departments. “Your innovative thoughts are always welcome,” Gupta said. “Let’s shift our efforts from social media debates to real action on the ground, and together, we’ll move Delhi and the country ahead.”
Taking a dig at past governments, Gupta pointed out their half-hearted youth engagement efforts. “Previous internships often had a political angle, hiring favorites just for benefits,” she noted. “But our programme is all about transparency, sparking new ideas, and improving governance with vibrant youth input.”
On X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister posted: “Today at the Delhi Secretariat, we distributed letters to these energetic young minds. Inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s PM Internship Scheme, this is our way to weave youth perspectives into governance.”
After the three-day training, these selected youth will dive into a three-month paid internship across various Delhi government departments. They’ll work alongside officials, learn the ropes of administration, and share their suggestions. As Gupta emphasized on X, under PM Modi’s guidance, her government aims to empower the youth and link them to nation-building efforts.
This Delhi CM Internship Programme is set to inspire more young Indians to join governance, blending fresh energy with real-world impact.
