Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Boosts Electricity Department with Promotions and New Tech Van
In a big move for Delhi’s power sector, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta approved promotions and benefits for over 100 electricity department employees on Saturday. She slammed past governments for ignoring the city for 27 long years and promised a fresh start with transparent governance.
Speaking to the employees at the Delhi Secretariat, CM Gupta said, "Our government is all set to get Delhi back on track for real development. We’re done with the neglect and mismanagement of the last 27 years." She added, "We’re building new habits of honesty, transparency, and strong governance."
The employees couldn’t hide their joy. In a post on X, CM Gupta shared, "This is a proud moment—their long fight has finally paid off. These promotions aren’t just paperwork; they’re about delivering justice." During the meeting, the staff thanked the government for clearing their long-delayed promotions.
But that’s not all. Earlier that day, CM Gupta launched India’s first hotline maintenance van in Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency. This high-tech van fixes live electricity cables without cutting power to nearby homes and shops— a game-changer for residents tired of sudden outages.
"This is a pilot project, and soon, such vans will roll out across all Delhi constituencies," the Chief Minister announced. The van, which cost Rs 1.5 crore, is a special gift from the Power Department to Shalimar Bagh locals. "We don’t want forced power cuts for repairs anymore. Every area in Delhi deserves this convenience," she emphasized.
CM Gupta also highlighted other upgrades in the area. "We’re installing new street lights in Shalimar Bagh, and across the whole city, over 44,000 new lights will brighten up streets for better safety and security."
These steps show Delhi’s push towards reliable electricity services and employee welfare, marking a new chapter in the capital’s development.
