Celebrations kicked off in New Delhi on Wednesday for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, with leaders focusing on national service through special events. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led the way by donating blood early in the morning, joined by several ministers after a Seva Sankalp walk at India Gate.
The lively scene at India Gate featured cultural performances that drew crowds. BJP leaders like Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Virendra Sachdeva, and Bansuri Swaraj showed up to honor PM Modi, along with other ministers and Members of Parliament.
Speaking to , CM Gupta announced exciting plans: “We’re launching 75 new schemes for Delhi’s people as part of PM Modi’s birthday festivities.” She explained that the Seva Pakhwada, a 15-day service drive, started with a blood donation camp. “Our Delhi government believes every drop of blood is for the nation. During this Seva Pakhwada, we’ll roll out these 75 schemes to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday.”
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who had earlier organized an Akhand Path Sahib Bhog at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara for PM Modi’s birthday, praised the blood donation efforts. “Under CM Rekha Gupta’s leadership, we’ve held a massive blood donation camp in Delhi today. PM Modi serves the nation tirelessly, so it’s our duty to join in. I’m thrilled to see our Chief Minister, cabinet, MLAs, party workers, and Delhi residents donating blood on such a large scale for the Prime Minister’s birthday.”
After the Seva Sankalp walk, CM Gupta spoke to a gathered crowd at India Gate. She highlighted PM Modi’s commitment: “He’s made service his life’s resolution, dedication his strength, and development his symbol. What’s the best gift for such a leader? Today, all of Delhi says in one voice: Thank you!” The crowd echoed back, “Thank you Modi ji!”
