Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined the nationwide celebrations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on Wednesday, kicking off a special 15-day Seva Pakhwada campaign. She extended warm wishes to the PM and announced that the Delhi government will launch 75 new projects for the public during this period.
“From the bottom of my heart, heartfelt best wishes to PM Modi,” Gupta said while speaking to reporters. She explained how people across India, including in Delhi, are marking the occasion with service activities. “Today, the country is celebrating PM Modi’s birthday as Seva Pakhwada. In some places, health camps are running, while others host blood donation drives. These public service efforts are our way of wishing the Prime Minister well.”
Gupta shared exciting details about Delhi’s plans. “Our government is observing Seva Pakhwada for 15 days, and we’ve decided to dedicate 75 projects to the people during this time,” she added. These initiatives aim to bring real benefits straight to Delhi residents, tying into the birthday festivities.
The day started early with action. Gupta, along with several ministers, joined a Seva Sankalp walk at India Gate, followed by a blood donation camp. Visuals from the spot showed lively cultural performances, drawing crowds. Other BJP leaders like Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Virendra Sachdeva, and Bansuri Swaraj also attended to honor the PM.
Speaking to , Gupta emphasized the spirit of service. “PM Modi’s birthday and Seva Pakhwada began with a blood donation camp. It’s our Delhi government’s resolution that every drop of blood is for the nation. Over these 15 days, we’ll roll out 75 new schemes for Delhi’s people on this special occasion.”
Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who earlier led an Akhand Path Sahib Bhog at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara for the PM’s birthday, praised the blood donation efforts. “A massive camp is underway in Delhi under CM Gupta’s leadership. The Prime Minister serves the nation tirelessly, so it’s our duty to contribute through service. I’m thrilled that our Chief Minister, cabinet, MLAs, party workers, and Delhiites have donated blood on a large scale today to mark PM Modi’s birthday.”
After the walk at India Gate, Gupta addressed a gathered crowd, highlighting the PM’s commitment. “PM Modi has made service his life’s resolution, dedication his strength, and development his symbol. What gift do we offer someone like that? Today, all of Delhi should say in one voice: Thank you!” The crowd responded with enthusiastic chants of “Thank you Modi ji.”
