Shocking BMW Hit-and-Run in Delhi: Wife’s Heartbreaking Account of Pleas Ignored After Deadly Crash
In a tragic incident near Dhaula Kuan on Delhi’s Ring Road, a high-speed BMW car smashed into a motorcycle on Sunday, killing the rider and seriously injuring his wife. The Delhi Police have now filed an FIR and taken the BMW driver into custody as the investigation heats up.
The victim, a Ministry of Finance employee from Hari Nagar, rode his bike with his wife when the blue BMW rammed them from behind. The impact threw both off the bike, and they collided with a nearby bus. The man suffered fatal head and face injuries, while his wife ended up with multiple fractures in her hands and legs, plus a head wound that needed 14 stitches.
Eyewitnesses told police that a woman drove the speeding BMW, which flipped over during the crash. The registration number? DL 0008. After the collision, the injured couple got rushed to a hospital in a taxi, but the wife’s story paints a grim picture of what followed.
In her police statement, the grieving widow revealed she lost consciousness right after the hit-and-run accident. When she came to, the BMW driver—a woman named Gagan Preet Kaur—and a male companion had loaded her and her unconscious husband into a van-like vehicle. "I begged them repeatedly to take us to the nearest hospital for quick first aid," she said. But instead, they drove to a small clinic in far-off GTB Nagar.
There, the couple waited on stretchers outside for what felt like ages, with her pleas for a closer hospital falling on deaf ears. Family members, including her son, finally reached them and got her transferred to Venkateshwar Hospital for better care. Sadly, her husband didn’t make it.
Delhi Police registered FIR No. 240/25 under sections 281 (rash driving), 125B (causing hurt), 105 (culpable homicide), and 238 BNS (failure to report accident). They arrested Gagan Preet Kaur after her hospital discharge and are probing the deliberate delay in getting help, which might have worsened the outcome.
