Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda has penned a heartfelt letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, celebrating his leadership and vision for India. The message, shared on Wednesday, highlights Modi’s role in boosting national pride and global standing.

Deve Gowda, a JD(S) Rajya Sabha member, took to X (formerly Twitter) to extend his wishes. “I wish Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi a very happy 75th birthday. May the lord almighty bless him with a long life and good health to serve our nation for many more years. I sent him a letter on the occasion,” he posted.

In the letter, Deve Gowda praised Modi’s 11 years at the helm. He noted how Modi has ensured socio-economic stability and security in India’s diverse landscape. “India is a big, diverse, and complex nation, and keeping it together and calm is no easy challenge,” Deve Gowda wrote. He added that Modi has shattered the old myth that only one party could deliver stability and good governance, proving India’s talent pool can drive better solutions.

Deve Gowda also commended Modi for building confidence in India’s cultural identity and showcasing its civilizational strength worldwide. This, he said, has sparked a national resurgence that will propel India to new heights. During recent global challenges like military conflicts and economic hurdles, Modi turned them into opportunities. “India no longer begs Western powers for deals or aid—we negotiate as equals, prioritizing our national interests. Your ‘nation first’ slogan rings true,” Deve Gowda emphasized. He wished Modi good health to reach a century and lead India further.

Deve Gowda’s son, Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, who handles Heavy Industries and Steel, echoed these sentiments. On X, Kumaraswamy said, “I extend my heartfelt birthday greetings to the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Your determination to lead India as an unmatched global leader has made all Indians hold their heads high with pride.”

Kumaraswamy highlighted Modi’s vision for a developed, self-reliant India that commands global attention. He praised the welfare programs for the underprivileged as a model of public service. “Your tireless dedication, discipline, and resolve guide us all,” he added. Kumaraswamy prayed for Modi’s long life and health to steer India toward progress and make it a global power.

This warm exchange between the veteran leader and the current PM underscores the respect for Modi’s transformative journey on his milestone birthday.
