New Delhi, Oct. 11 – AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi fired back at critics who claim his party is a “B‑team” of the BJP. In a sit‑down with , Owaisi said the idea is simply false. “The people don’t think AIMIM is the BJP’s backup,” he told reporters. He added that if opposition parties want to paint his name on everything to fix a problem, he has no objection to it.
Owaisi clarified that his meetings with BJP ministers were strictly work‑related. He mentioned a session with Union Minister Giriraj Singh in Malegaon to discuss textile issues, saying politicians should engage on common concerns even if they disagree politically. “I have no connection with the BJP beyond business matters,” he said.
The chief also addressed allegations that AIMIM has ties to the ruling party and explained that his opposition stance remains unchanged. “I’m politically opposed to the BJP, but we need results for our constituents,” Owaisi said.
In Telangana, the upcoming Jubilee Hills bye‑elections are drawing attention. Owaisi confirmed that AIMIM has not yet decided whether to ally with Congress for the November poll. He emphasized that his party will not compromise its ideological stance with either the BJP or any other group. The election will take place on November 12, with results announced on November 14.
Congress has selected Naveen Yadav to contest the Telangana legislative assembly seat from Jubilee Hills. The clash of parties and alliances ahead of the bye‑polls is expected to keep voters on edge as the region heads to the polls.
