Heartbreaking Plea from Pahalgam Terror Victim’s Wife: Boycott India-Pakistan Asia Cup Match
In a powerful and emotional appeal from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Aishanya Dwivedi, the wife of Shubham Dwivedi—one of the victims of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack—has urged fans across India to boycott the upcoming India vs Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup 2025. The high-stakes clash is set for Sunday, September 14, in the UAE, and Aishanya is calling on everyone not to watch it, even on TV.
Speaking exclusively to , Aishanya expressed her shock and frustration. "I just can’t understand this. I urge everyone to boycott this match. Don’t go to the stadium, and please don’t switch on your TV for it," she said, her voice filled with pain.
Aishanya didn’t hold back in criticizing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). She slammed the board for going ahead with the game, especially after the horrific Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives, including her husband’s. "The BCCI should never have agreed to play against Pakistan. They seem to have no sympathy for the families of those 26 victims or the brave martyrs of Operation Sindoor," she added.
Her concerns go deeper, targeting the Indian cricket team as well. Aishanya questioned the players’ sense of nationalism, pointing out that cricket is often called India’s national game. "What are our cricketers doing? They’re supposed to be patriots. But except for one or two players, no one has spoken up to demand a boycott of the India-Pakistan match. The BCCI can’t force them to play at gunpoint—they need to stand up for the country, but they’re not," she said.
Aishanya also raised serious worries about the financial side of the match. With the game being part of the Asia Cup 2025, she fears the revenue will end up in Pakistan’s hands. "I want to ask the sponsors and broadcasters: Has your sense of nationality for those 26 families vanished? What happens to the money from this match? Pakistan, a nation linked to terrorism, will use it to fund more attacks on us. You’re basically helping them prepare to strike again," she warned.
This comes as the Indian government has allowed the team to compete in multi-nation tournaments like the Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan, while sticking to its policy of no bilateral series. The match has already sparked heated debates on social media, with many echoing Aishanya’s call for a boycott in solidarity with terror attack victims.
Aishanya’s heartfelt words highlight the raw emotions tied to the India-Pakistan rivalry, especially amid ongoing security concerns. As fans gear up for the Asia Cup, her plea serves as a stark reminder of the human cost behind the headlines.
