AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami is gearing up for the next big push in his statewide campaign. He’s launching the fifth phase of his popular yatra, called ‘Makkalai Kappom Thamizhagathai Meetpom’, on September 17 from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. This 10-day tour will take him through key districts and wrap up on September 26 in Kulithalai, Karur district.
During this phase, Palaniswami plans to hold 19 lively public meetings right from his campaign vehicle. He’ll cover Dharmapuri, Namakkal, The Nilgiris, Dindigul, and Karur districts. Party workers and senior leaders in these areas have already received orders to rally supporters and make sure everything runs smoothly, as per the latest announcement from AIADMK headquarters.
Since kicking off the yatra earlier this year, Palaniswami has already reached nearly 150 Assembly constituencies across Tamil Nadu. His rallies keep pulling in huge crowds, showing his strong drive to position AIADMK as a solid alternative to the ruling DMK. Fans and party loyalists love how he connects with people on the ground.
The yatra started strong with its first phase back in February from his hometown Salem. There, Palaniswami vowed to protect the people and free Tamil Nadu from what he calls DMK’s misrule. That leg took him through western districts like Erode, Tiruppur, and Coimbatore.
In March, the second phase hit the delta regions of Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and Nagapattinam. Palaniswami spotlighted farmers’ issues and slammed the state government’s handling of agriculture and water problems.
The third phase focused on northern Tamil Nadu, including Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, and Kancheepuram. He accused the DMK of breaking election promises and urged voters to bring back AIADMK’s focus on development and welfare schemes.
For the fourth phase, he headed south to Madurai, Theni, Virudhunagar, and Tirunelveli districts. Palaniswami promised to revive the pro-people programs from AIADMK’s earlier rule.
With every phase, Palaniswami has fired up party cadres, strengthened AIADMK’s voter base, and cemented his role as the party’s top leader. He keeps hammering home that the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections will be a game-changer, with AIADMK returning to power to drive the state toward real prosperity and growth.
Everyone’s watching this fifth phase closely. It will put AIADMK’s organizational muscle to the test in Dharmapuri, Namakkal, and the western belt—areas that could prove vital for the party’s comeback in Tamil Nadu politics.
