Man Harassed by Calls After Rahul Gandhi Shares His Number in Press Conference
A man from Uttar Pradesh is facing a flood of unwanted calls after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accidentally shared his mobile number during a press conference. Anjani Mishra, the affected resident of Prayagraj, says he’s now planning to file a police complaint over what he calls a major privacy breach.
Mishra told that the trouble started when Gandhi linked him to alleged voter ID deletions in Maharashtra during the event. But Mishra insists he’s never even visited the state. "Rahul Gandhi made my phone number public in his press conference, and it’s caused me endless hassle," he said. "He claimed votes were stolen in Maharashtra and that my voter IDs were deleted there. That’s totally false—I have no connection to Maharashtra, so how could that happen? This is a complete lie, and now my number is out there for everyone."
For the past 15 years, Mishra has used the same number without any issues. Now, he’s bombarded with fake and fraudulent calls from strangers. "I’m getting unknown calls non-stop. This is a clear violation of my privacy, and I’ll complain to the nearest police station," he added firmly.
The incident unfolded a day earlier when Rahul Gandhi, the Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, held a fiery press conference in New Delhi. He accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of shielding those who are "destroying Indian democracy." Gandhi promised to reveal solid proof of vote manipulation, including how votes get added or deleted, especially targeting minority groups that support Congress.
He even teased a so-called "Hydrogen Bomb" of evidence but clarified it was still in the works. "I’m going to show the youth and the people black-and-white proof that the Chief Election Commissioner is protecting those ruining our democracy. I’ll expose the exact methods used to tamper with votes," Gandhi said at the Congress headquarters in Indira Bhawan.
As the controversy over alleged vote theft in Maharashtra elections heats up, Mishra’s story highlights the real-world fallout of public disclosures. Many are now watching to see if he follows through with his police complaint and how Gandhi responds to the mix-up.
