Araria, Bihar—District officials in Araria released the final electoral roll for the 2025 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on Tuesday, marking a key step toward Bihar’s upcoming elections. District Election Officer and Magistrate Anil Kumar led the event at Perman Auditorium in the Collectorate, with leaders from all major political parties joining in.
The new voter list shows 1,966,807 eligible voters across Araria district. That breaks down to 1,030,292 men, 926,436 women, and 89 in the others category. Among them, 31,994 are young adults aged 18 to 19, 1,908,959 fall between 20 and 79 years old, and 25,854 are seniors over 80.
Election teams published this final roll at the same time in all six assembly constituencies: Narpatganj, Raniganj (SC), Forbesganj, Araria, Jokihat, and Sikti. It builds on the draft list from August 1, 2025, followed by a month-long window until September 1 for people to file claims or objections.
To make sure no one gets left out, special camps popped up at block offices, circle offices, and local municipal bodies. The goal? Achieving the Election Commission of India’s “No Voter Left Behind” push for full participation.
At the meeting, officials handed out free copies of the electoral rolls to party representatives. Everyone from different parties praised the effort, calling it a smooth, transparent, and inclusive process free of errors. They gave kudos to the Election Commission of India and the local administration for handling it so well.
Voters who spot issues can fight back legally. If you’re unhappy with the Electoral Registration Officer’s decision, appeal to the District Magistrate under Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. Still not satisfied? Take it to Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer under Rule 27 of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1960.
This update keeps Araria’s voter rolls fresh and ready, boosting confidence as Bihar gears up for the next polls.
