Delhi, October 25 – Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the National Capital Territory will unveil its first official logo on November 1 to mark Delhi Foundation Day.
The logo will serve as a new symbol of Delhi’s identity, reflecting the city’s modern, transparent, and people‑friendly governance while celebrating its rich culture and rapid development.
A city‑wide design hunt
The Delhi government opened a logo design competition on the MyGov portal (mygov.in). The entry deadline was September 26, and the call received 1,800 submissions from across India.
Expert selection panel
In late September, the Chief Minister set up a specialist committee to choose the winning design. Chaired by the Secretary of the Department of General Administration, the panel also includes academics from several universities. The Joint Secretary of General Administration will act as the Members Secretary. The committee reviewed all entries and will select the final design that best captures Delhi’s distinct heritage and future aspirations.
A brand for the 21st century
By launching an official logo, Delhi aims to strengthen its brand as a city that embraces democratic values, technological progress, and active citizen participation. The logo will be used across government communications, signage, and digital platforms, giving the capital a clear, recognisable emblem.
The government says the project is already underway and the new logo will officially be launched on November 1, creating a fresh visual identity for the National Capital Territory.
