Khalistani Threats Escalate: SFJ Targets Indian Consulate in Canada

The banned terror group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has issued a fresh threat to lay siege to the Indian Consulate in Vancouver, Canada. This bold move highlights how these Khalistani outfits are growing more dangerous by the day, ramping up their activities abroad.

Intelligence Bureau officials point out that this is no isolated incident. They believe Pakistan’s ISI is directing these groups to intensify operations in places like Canada and the UK. It’s all part of a psychological warfare strategy, or psy-ops, that the ISI has pushed harder since Pakistan’s setback in Operation Sindoor. The goal? Stir up trouble and create chaos for India.

Security agencies in India aren’t brushing off these warnings. SFJ often uses such threats as part of its mind games, but officials are on high alert. Frustration is boiling over among Khalistani groups in Canada, where they’ve failed to make real progress inside India. Indian forces have kept a tight lid on any momentum back home, leaving these outfits scrambling for attention.

India has repeatedly urged Canadian authorities to crack down on these terrorists. Without action, experts warn, Canada itself could become a hotspot for violence. We’ve already seen cases where Canadians received warnings to leave the country, and some extremists even talk about carving out a Khalistan right there in Canada.

Tensions spiked after India’s response to the Pahalgam attack on Pakistan. Chatter has surged between Pakistani social media handles and SFJ members, urging them to amp up anti-India campaigns. This includes targeting Indian missions, flooding social media with propaganda, and pushing fake referendums to build hype.

Pakistan seems keen on a full-on narrative war this time, keeping the pressure intense. It’s a tactic they’ve leaned on since Operation Sindoor exposed their weaknesses. At the same time, they’re cozying up to the US and trying to flex regional power alongside China.

For the Khalistanis, the ground war in India is a bust. Punjab shows zero support for the movement, and young people aren’t buying into the ideology. Without youth involvement, the whole Khalistan dream is fizzling out. So, these groups are turning to flashy optics—big protests, online stunts—to lure in the next generation.

The ISI is pushing SFJ to target youth aggressively, aiming to spark unrest similar to recent upheavals in Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Indian agencies have raised the alert level, especially in Punjab. The Punjab Police have stepped up, busting terror modules and stopping arms smuggling plots left and right.

This flurry of activity screams desperation. The ISI first tried building a Khalistani terror network in Punjab, but it went nowhere. Realizing the movement lacks local backing, they’ve shifted to online tactics. SFJ’s strong social media presence makes it a perfect tool for stirring trouble, though most attempts to radicalize youth have flopped.

The Vancouver consulate threat follows hot on the heels of a so-called Khalistan Embassy opening in Canada. Canadian security has taken note, releasing reports on terror financing and money laundering linked to these groups. To tackle this, Canada now needs to team up closely with Indian agencies and find real solutions before things spiral further.
