Piyush Goyal Hails GST Reforms as Key Boost for Self-Reliant India and Viksit Bharat 2047
In Mumbai, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal shared exciting updates on GST reforms during a press conference. He called these changes a major milestone in building a self-reliant India and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Goyal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for driving these game-changing GST reforms. He highlighted how Modi’s focus on positive development politics wins hearts, unlike the opposition’s negative approach. "People simply don’t buy into that," Goyal said.
The minister pointed out two big wins for the middle class and lower middle class: income tax exemptions and these timely GST reforms. PM Modi promised action on Independence Day, and the government delivered before Navratri, easing burdens for everyday folks and powering up the economy.
These GST reforms promise real momentum for India’s growth. They will boost consumer purchasing power, speed up trade, ramp up industrial production, attract more investments, and create jobs. Goyal emphasized relief for key groups like farmers, MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises), women, youth, small traders, and the middle class. Even health services will get more affordable, making life easier for families.
Goyal urged industries to pass on every bit of these benefits directly to consumers. He credited PM Modi’s visionary leadership for shaping a strong, self-reliant India. "To reach Viksit Bharat 2047, we need bold leaders like him," Goyal added.
Diving into Modi’s legacy, Goyal noted his 24 years of selfless public service. PM Modi has boosted India’s global image, earning over 27 top honors from countries worldwide. As a caring leader, he always puts the poor, youth, women, and farmers first. On his birthday today, Modi launched the ‘Swasth Nari, Sasakth Parivar’ program from Madhya Pradesh. This month-long initiative focuses on quality healthcare for women and children nationwide, empowering the underserved.
Goyal also touched on Modi’s all-round push for India’s progress. He preserved our rich cultural heritage while speeding up development in the Northeast through the ‘Act East’ policy.
To mark PM Modi’s birthday, the BJP kicks off the ‘Seva Pandharvada’ campaign nationwide, running until October 2. Expect community events like blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, health check-ups, tree planting, and exhibitions— all aimed at public service and unity.
These steps show India’s commitment to inclusive growth, with GST reforms at the forefront of economic revival.
