In Gujarat’s Kutch and Navsari districts, thousands of families are getting a boost to their health through the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan campaign. This initiative focuses on better maternal and child health, preventive care, and easy access to medical services, especially for women and kids.
In Kutch, more than 13,000 people have already visited 539 medical camps set up across the district during this two-week drive. Teams organized these camps at community health centers, primary health centers, and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, offering full health checkups for women, children, and teen girls.
Attendees received blood tests, vaccinations, prenatal exams for expectant mothers, and screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, tuberculosis, sickle cell anemia, cervical and breast cancer, plus other conditions. The camps also featured health talks to promote smarter habits, like cutting back on sugar and oil, eating local foods, following good nutrition, and maintaining menstrual hygiene.
Experts such as gynecologists, pediatricians, eye doctors, ear-nose-throat specialists, skin doctors, and psychiatrists gave consultations and treatments on site. Telemedicine options helped reach even more people.
Staff guided folks on signing up for key health programs, including the Mother and Child Protection card, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and Ayushman Vay Vandana Card. They also handled nutrition support through the Poshan Tracker app and handed out Take Home Ration packets.
Communities got involved too, with blood donation events, organ pledge drives, and volunteer sign-ups for the Nishchay Mitra program. Local leaders kicked off camps in places like Bhuj, Mandvi, Nakhatrana, Gandhidham, and Bhachau.
One beneficiary, Alpa Mishra from Kutch, shared with , “I’m getting great medical treatment here. I want to thank PM Modi for this.”
Over in Navsari, the same statewide campaign runs camps until October 2, helping rural and urban families tap into healthcare via Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards. Health workers assist with card issuance and free treatments under the scheme.
Beyond checkups, the program offers financial and nutritional aid, like food kits and Rs 3,000 cash for TB patients. Many from low-income and working families say they’re truly grateful for the support.
Priyashi Patel, who’s seven months pregnant in Navsari, added, “I’m getting the treatment I need. I want to thank PM Modi for this.”
