Gandhinagar – Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel used the festive period to wish every citizen of Gujarat a happy Diwali and a prosperous Vikram Samvat 2082 New Year. His message, aimed at Gujaratis everywhere—including those living abroad—called for renewed enthusiasm, joy, and a shared spirit of progress.
Patel highlighted the symbolism of Diwali’s lamps, saying they remind us to move from darkness to light. He tied this message to Gujarat’s “Sauna Saath, Sauna Vikas” vision, which means “progress for all, together.” The CM urged residents to support local traders and artisans during the celebrations, encouraging them to buy from domestic producers under the “Vocal for Local” initiative. The campaign “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi” reminds households that a self‑reliant India starts with everyday choices.
The CM also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Next Gen GST Reforms.” According to Patel, these reforms will simplify business operations, add festive cheer, and accelerate development across the state. He said Gujarat is already experiencing unprecedented growth and prosperity, thanks in part to these reforms.
In his New Year message, Patel reaffirmed the national aim of becoming a developed country by 2047. He explained that Gujarat’s roadmap, “Developed Gujarat@2047,” aligns with the national agenda set by Modi. Through the state’s “Agenda for 2035,” Gujarat plans to achieve comprehensive development and set an example for the rest of the country. Patel expressed confidence that Gujaratis will rise with determination this year to realize a developed Gujarat that contributes to a developed India.
The CM also celebrated Diwali in an approachable way. He spent the day in a local market, buying traditional items such as earthen lamps (diyas) to support the Swadeshi movement and the Vocal for Local initiative. Patel mingled with vendors, chatting with stallholders and extending warm Diwali greetings. His down‑to‑earth style left a strong impression, reminding people that a leader can be a “common man” who shares their everyday experiences.
During the market visit, Patel announced a proud new milestone for Gujarat: Ahmedabad will host the Commonwealth Games in 2030. He said this event will showcase the state’s vibrant culture and dynamic development, inspiring the nation for years to come.
In short, Bhupendra Patel’s message combined festive cheer with clear calls for local support, economic reforms, and ambition for a stronger Gujarat, positioning the state as a rising growth engine and a proud host of the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
