Gandhinagar, Gujarat, saw a heartwarming event on September 17 as leaders joined a massive blood donation drive to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. The occasion also marked the 61st foundation day of the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the Mega Blood Donation Camp, themed “Raktadan Amrit Mahotsav 2.0,” at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Governor Acharya Devvrat kicked off the event with warm birthday wishes to PM Modi from the people of Gujarat and Maharashtra. He praised Modi’s lifelong commitment to national service and development, saying the Prime Minister has put India and Gujarat on the global map with pride. “Under his visionary leadership, India is racing ahead,” the Governor noted. He called the blood donation camp, organized by the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad on PM Modi’s special day, a truly inspiring effort.
The Governor highlighted how PM Modi’s 75 years of wisdom and experience motivate millions across India. His guidance has sparked countless humanitarian and welfare projects that touch lives every day. Turning to the blood donation drive, he shared that it draws inspiration from Acharya Mahashraman and the Parishad’s leadership. Amazingly, such camps are happening in 75 countries worldwide—a huge point of pride for everyone involved. “Blood donation is the ultimate gift of life,” he said. “It builds brotherhood and shows our unity as a nation.”
The Governor congratulated all members of the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and people from different communities who turned up to donate blood and join the cause.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel echoed the sentiment, calling PM Modi’s 75th birthday a nationwide “Sewa Diwas” or Day of Service. He lauded the Mega Blood Donation Camp for spreading the Prime Minister’s spirit of selfless service and dedication. “This initiative fills us all with pride,” CM Patel said. Across Gujarat, celebrations took a unique turn with the “Namo Ke Naam Raktadan” drive. As many as 378 blood donation camps sprang up statewide, with government employees leading the way.
CM Patel drew a powerful parallel: just as blood powers the human body, the wave of blood donations shows people’s deep trust in PM Modi. It inspires everyone to build a “New and Viksit Bharat”—a developed India. Recalling the Prime Minister’s words, he added, “Money donations might get you rewards, but blood donors give without expecting anything back. That’s why it’s the greatest gift of all.”
In keeping with PM Modi’s vision for a sustainable, clean, and healthy India free from obesity, the Chief Minister urged the crowd to embrace the Fit India movement. “Join in with yoga, pranayama, and regular exercise,” he said. “Stay fit, live healthy, and become life-savers by donating blood.”
Both the Governor and Chief Minister personally visited the camp to encourage donors. The event drew a big crowd, including Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad President Ramesh Daga, Vice President Pawan Mandot, local President Pradeep Bagrecha, Secretary Sagar Salecha, and leaders from various communities. It was a perfect blend of celebration, service, and community spirit on PM Modi’s big day.
