Blood Donation Drive Kicks Off in Gujarat Ahead of PM Modi’s 75th Birthday
Gandhinagar, Gujarat, saw a huge turnout today as Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel launched a blood donation camp. This event marks the start of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) nationwide Sewa Pakhwada celebrations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17.
The BJP has lined up exciting activities across India for the two-week Sewa Pakhwada. Expect cleanliness drives, the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree-planting initiative, and special exhibitions that spotlight PM Modi’s key achievements in nation-building. These events aim to inspire everyone to join the spirit of service.
Health Minister Patel shared some impressive numbers: Over 1.27 lakh state government employees have signed up to donate blood. "This special campaign lets our dedicated state employees give back to society on PM Modi’s birthday," he said during the inauguration.
The camp buzzed with energy right from the start. State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi dropped by and revealed that more than 7,000 people had already donated blood in the first hour. "Thanks to the success of Operation Sindoor and the enthusiasm for PM Modi’s birthday, our state employees came together for this massive drive. In just an hour and a half, we collected blood that will save lives in Gujarat and nearby states," Sanghvi added. The donated blood will reach hospitals far and wide, helping thousands in need.
Sewa Pakhwada packs in more than just donations. Organizers plan exhibitions showcasing PM Modi’s years of service to the nation. You’ll also find Prabuddh Sammelan discussions and chats with experts from various fields. To spread the word, district-level workshops ran from September 6 to 10, while mandal-level ones happened between September 11 and 13.
Adding a creative twist, the Ministry of Culture is hosting a Painting Competition on Viksit Bharat. It invites students to join in and connect with PM Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Digital India. This fun activity aims to get the youth excited about India’s bright future.
