In Chennai on October 20, Governor R.N. Ravi and leaders from every major political party sent warm Diwali greetings to the people of Tamil Nadu. The festival of lights, which is now brightening homes across the state, was celebrated with messages of joy, peace and prosperity.
Governor Ravi posted his wishes on X, urging the state to welcome “May Maa Lakshmi bless us with happiness, health, and prosperity…Wishing everyone a joyous, vibrant, and safe Deepavali.” His words highlighted unity and the shared hope for a harmonious society.
AIADMK’s general secretary and former chief minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami, also reached out, wishing the nation “love and peace to flourish, all sorrows to fade, and divisions to disappear.” Expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam echoed these sentiments, calling for peace and happiness in every household.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K Selvaperunthagai urged people to celebrate inclusively, crossing political and social lines. Other leaders added to the chorus: PMK’s Dr S Ramadoss and president Dr Anbumani Ramadoss highlighted pollution‑free celebrations, while KMDK’s E.R. Eswaran, AMMK’s T.T.V. Dhinakaran, former union ministers G.K. Vasan and Su Thirunavukkarasar wished a joyous Deepavali and a future of prosperity and togetherness.
Across party lines, the messages share the same promise: the Diwali lights should reconnect Tamil Nadu, warming hearts with hope and a brighter tomorrow.
