Heavy rain in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami inspects severely affected Maldevta, Kesarwala areas in Dehradun

Uttarakhand Floods: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inspects Damage in Dehradun, Pledges Quick Relief

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the flood-hit areas of Maldevta and Kesarwala in Dehradun on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc here, and he personally checked the damage on the ground. During the visit, Dhami urged officials to speed up relief and rescue work. He also promised full support to the local people facing tough times.

The relentless rains have damaged roads, bridges, and government buildings across Uttarakhand. Daily life for many residents has turned upside down due to these floods and landslides. Dhami made it clear: teams must reopen blocked roads fast and restore safe drinking water and electricity right away.

State and district officials are working non-stop in the field. All departments team up for relief, rescue, and rehab efforts. With river levels rising, Dhami stressed extra caution to handle any new disasters. He keeps a close watch from the State Emergency Operations Centre, stays in touch with district heads, and wants every affected person’s issues fixed on priority.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Dhami to get the latest on the heavy rainfall crisis in Uttarakhand. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke with the chief minister, as per the Chief Minister’s Office. Dhami shared details about the widespread damage to homes, government properties, and livelihoods.

Both PM Modi and Amit Shah assured Uttarakhand of all possible central help. They said the Central Government stands strong with the state during this emergency. Dhami thanked them warmly, noting their guidance will boost the relief drive. He added that the administration is in full action mode in flood-affected zones, running rescue ops like a war effort.

Local MLAs and top officials joined Dhami during his on-site inspection in Dehradun. He ordered quick delivery of relief materials, safe shelters, food, water, and medical aid so no family suffers. "The state government is with every affected family," Dhami said. "Our teams, including NDRF, SDRF, police, and local authorities, are on high alert and working round the clock."

In other news from Dehradun, last night’s downpour swelled the Tamsa river, flooding the famous Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple. Water rushed into the courtyard and reached the Hanuman statue, but the main sanctum stayed safe from the deluge.

Uttarakhand’s heavy rainfall has triggered floods and landslides in several districts, putting lives and infrastructure at risk. Relief efforts continue amid warnings of more rain.
