In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu rolled out a fresh wave of development for the Karsog region on Saturday, handing over projects worth 132.8 crore rupees. The visit saw the CM open several new buildings and lay the foundation for key road upgrades, aiming to boost local infrastructure and public services.
During his Karsog stop, Sukhu inaugurated a new Combined Office Building at 34.25 crore, a specialized Horticulture Office for 1.67 crore, and a Panchayat Community Centre in Triman that cost 29.51 lakh. He also unveiled beautification work at the Mahunag Temple Complex (90.11 lakh), health work in Maindhi Gram Panchayat (71.57 lakh) and Bhanthal Health Sub‑Centre (13 lakh). The CM opened a new community centre in Sui Kufridhar (32.74 lakh) and a library—called Apna Pustkaaly—inside the Combined Office Building (13.75 lakh).
Road projects got a major boost too. Sukhu laid foundation stones to upgrade the Bhakhrot‑Karsog‑Sanarli‑Sainj route for 31.80 lakh, the Kheel‑to‑Bhagelu road at 13.18 crore, the Kheel‑to‑Bhagelu (Kelodhar‑Garjoob) road for 19.75 crore, the Chhalog‑to‑Baghail road for 11.06 crore, and the Kelodhar‑to‑Sainj upgrade at 18.60 crore.
In addition to Karsog, the CM kicked off the Tobacco‑Free Youth Campaign 3.0 in Shimla that same day. He led an awareness rally from his Oak Over residence, urging youngsters to stay tobacco‑free and adopt healthy habits. During the event, he also handed out 26 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances to Block Medical Officers across the state, a move that the health minister and an MLA also praised.
Speaking to the media, Sukhu stressed that health remains a top priority for Himachal Pradesh, adding that the new ambulances will fill current gaps and that reforms in the healthcare sector are underway. He also responded to the recent arrest of Ramkumar Bindal, the brother of BJP president Rajeev Bindal, saying that the government had acted on the victim’s complaint and would pursue legal action accordingly.
The Tobacco‑Free Youth Campaign’s third phase will intensify outreach efforts, promoting an addiction‑free lifestyle among the state’s young people. The CM’s combined focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and public health underscores Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to improving everyday life for its residents.
