As Bihar’s assembly elections heat up, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ramping up its efforts, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah kicking off a two-day visit to the state on September 26.
Shah started strong by holding a review meeting with party leaders in Bettiah. That evening, he led a key closed-door strategy session at the BJP’s state headquarters in Patna. Top attendees included Bihar BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, state president Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, plus MPs, MLAs, district presidents, and senior workers.
Sources say Shah dove deep into booth-level updates and urged leaders to build a stronger grassroots network across Bihar. He pushed for finalizing candidate lists and boosting voter outreach to connect with people ahead of the polls.
Earlier that day in Bettiah, Shah spoke to about 350 BJP workers and leaders from the Champaran and Saran divisions at the Government Engineering College. The crowd featured MPs, MLAs, MLCs, district heads, and assembly in-charges from West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, and Saran districts.
The session zeroed in on growing the party’s local presence, motivating grassroots workers, highlighting central and state government schemes, and sharpening coordination from village panchayats to district levels. A party insider revealed Shah encouraged door-to-door campaigns at every booth and panchayat in Bihar’s assembly constituencies to energize the base.
This trip marks Shah’s second to Bihar in just eight days, signaling the BJP’s push to sharpen its election machine. He spent Friday night in Patna and heads to Samastipur and Araria on Saturday for more talks.
In Samastipur’s Sarairanjan block, Shah will meet BJP leaders from Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, and Samastipur. Later, in Araria’s Forbesganj block, he’ll connect with workers from Saharsa, Purnea, and Bhagalpur districts, including MPs, MLAs, and MLCs.
