Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on Saturday during the launch of the first international conference for the ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ in New Delhi. He called it a game-changing move to spotlight India’s ancient knowledge traditions worldwide.
This exciting conference marks a big step in reviving and sharing India’s incredible intellectual heritage. From ancient manuscripts to palm leaves, copper plates, and stone inscriptions, the event focuses on protecting these treasures and passing them on to future generations.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Amit Shah shared his enthusiasm: “It’s a huge joy to see the first international conference of ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ kick off in New Delhi, thanks to PM Modi’s visionary approach. This mission brings India’s vast knowledge, science, and research—stored in manuscripts, birch barks, copper plates, stone inscriptions, and records—right to the new generation. It’s creating a vibrant platform for scholars, researchers, and young people from around the world to connect over these rich traditions.”
Shah highlighted how the ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ will survey, document, and analyze over one crore manuscripts across India, all for a budget of Rs 483 crore. The goal? To reconnect the globe with India’s mind-blowing knowledge heritage and make it accessible to everyone.
The conference also buzzed with talks on using digital technology to safeguard these ancient texts and share them globally. Organizers say this initiative will not only breathe new life into India’s old wisdom systems but also position the country as a global leader in intellectual pursuits.
Experts and participants from around the world gathered to discuss how this mission can bridge the past and future, making India’s ancient knowledge a key part of today’s conversations.
