Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared a landslide ahead for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections. At the NDTV Bihar Power‑Play conclave, the minister said the coalition is set to win 160 of 243 seats, giving it a two‑thirds majority and the power to form the new state government.

Shah praised Bihar’s political awareness, noting that voters have seen real progress over the past 20 years. He highlighted the law‑and‑order improvements under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying citizens now feel safer and that the state’s development pace has accelerated.

The report card included key achievements: four bridges across the Ganga already finished, with ten more under construction; a detailed plan to boost self‑employment; and a sharp drop in Maoist activity. “What used to be about theft and violence is now about progress and opportunity,” Shah added.

“We are fielding the NDA under Nitish Kumar’s leadership,” he insisted, stressing that the alliance’s future plans hinge on his record. Although he said the post of chief minister will be decided by normal constitutional process after the polls, the message was clear: Nirmission Kumar remains the alliance’s face in Bihar.

On the other side, the Grand Alliance led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has put Tejashwi Yadav forward as its chief ministerial candidate, but it has yet to name its own. Shah dismissed their criticism, arguing that the NDA’s unity and proven track record speak louder than politics.

With elections looming, the NDA’s campaign focuses on stability and development, positioning itself as the natural choice for people who want progress in Bihar. The message is simple: voters who want better roads, safety, jobs, and peace should vote for the National Democratic Alliance led by Nitish Kumar.
