Bengaluru, Oct 23 – Karnataka’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed the state government after a string of violent crimes in the last week.
At the BJP State Office, MP Tejasvi Surya said three young girls were raped and murdered in the Bangalore suburbs of Basavanagudi, Malleshwaram and Gangondanahalli. In Mysuru, a nine‑year‑old girl was gang‑raped. “While these horrific acts occur, our Home Minister G. Parameshwara is busy with Deepavali betting activities,” Surya accused. He added that the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and other ministers have spoken little about the attacks.
Surya blamed the ruling Congress for a loss of $15 billion in investment to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. He criticised the IT Minister for allegedly trying to ban the RSS and called the Home Minister’s “betting” a distraction from public safety. According to him, the Congress government blames Narendra Modi and BJP MPs for its own failures.
The MP also pointed to the tragic suicide toll among Karnataka farmers—over 2,500 deaths this year—and raised questions about the government’s handling of salaries for Regional Transport Office employees and contractor payments. In Hubballi and Dharwad, thousands of youths protested over vacant government and teaching posts, citing widespread corruption in tax collection.
Surya warned that the state’s money is reportedly used to fund election campaigns in Bihar rather than local needs. “We now rank among the most indebted states; for every 100 rupees of revenue, 18 rupees go to interest,” he said. He criticised the Congress for spending heavily on guarantee schemes while neglecting roads, education, irrigation and health services.
The MP called on the Congress to stop making people of Karnataka dependent on the state and to ensure real development before the party leader Siddaramaiah steps down. He urged more accountability and a clear commitment to public safety.
The Karnataka BJP’s message remains: the rise in serious crime demands immediate action and better leadership.
