In Coimbatore, on Saturday, former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao—known as KTR—took the stage as the chief guest of the 10th FMAE National Student Motorsports Competition. He highlighted how Telangana’s first Formula‑E race in Hyderabad last week proved the state’s rise as a global hub for clean technology and innovation.
KTR said the electric‑car event was more than a race – it was a clear statement of intent. “When the fastest electric cars tore through Hyderabad’s streets, we showed the world that Telangana is ready for the future,” he told the crowd. The race injected roughly ₹700 crore into the local economy and put Hyderabad on the map for cutting‑edge tech.
He promised that the Formula‑E job was just the beginning. “We’ve laid the groundwork,” KTR added. “Soon, Hyderabad will become India’s Mobility Valley.” The state’s strategy is to build on its strong startup ecosystem, with institutions like T‑Hub—India’s largest incubator—and T‑Works, the biggest prototyping center, moving ideas from concept to reality in record time.
Addressing hundreds of young engineers, KTR encouraged students to create opportunities rather than wait for them. “Why stand in line when you can start your own?” he urged. “Be job creators, not just job seekers. Dream big and you’ll see your potential.”
He drew a parallel with Telangana’s journey, recalling doubts when the state was formed 11 years ago. “We proved that belief, resilience, and vision can turn dreams into reality,” he said.
KTR also spoke to Gen Z, urging them to pursue impact over just income, authenticity over authority, and to keep a hunger for speed and scale. “You’re sharper, more responsible, and more aware of your role in driving India forward,” he told the listeners.
Finally, he finished with a quote from a recent Formula‑1 film: “Hope isn’t a strategy—create your own breaks.” KTR summed up that success, whether on a racetrack, in politics, or in life, demands designing chances, executing with courage, and building the future on your own terms.
The FMAE National Student Motorsports Competition, a top collegiate racing platform in India, saw enthusiastic participation from student teams across the country, showcasing innovation, engineering talent, and spirited competition.
