On his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received warm wishes from BJP leader and former Union Minister Smriti Irani, who praised his lifelong dedication to women’s and children’s welfare in India. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Irani highlighted how PM Modi made key announcements from Dhar, the historic city linked to Ahilyabai Holkar—a legendary queen known for her strong administration and military skills.
“I join people across the country in wishing the Prime Minister a very happy birthday,” Irani said. “What’s truly special is that he chose the land of Ahilyabai Holkar to announce initiatives for women and children. Throughout his political journey, PM Modi has always put their health and well-being at the heart of his governance. I salute not just his leadership but his unwavering commitment to social causes.”
Birthday celebrations for PM Modi are in full swing nationwide. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has kicked off a two-week ‘sewa pakhwada’ with events focused on service and community outreach, marking this milestone in the Prime Minister’s life.
During his visit to Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi inaugurated the PM Mitra Park, a major boost for the textile industry. He took a moment to appreciate the iconic Maheshwari sarees, crediting Devi Ahilyabai Holkar for their origins. “She inspired artisans to create the first nine-yard Maheshwari saree, drawing from the grand forts of Maheshwar,” PM Modi recalled. “Madhya Pradesh’s Maheshwari textiles got a fresh identity under her rule. We recently marked her 300th birth anniversary, and now this park in Dhar will keep her legacy alive.”
The PM Mitra Park will act as a one-stop hub for spinning, designing, processing, and exporting textiles. “You’ll get everything here—from cotton (kapas) to silk (resham). Quality checks will be simpler, and your products will reach global markets more easily. Spinning, designing, processing, and exports—all under one roof. Dhar will soon shine on the world textile map,” PM Modi added, exciting local weavers and boosting Madhya Pradesh’s textile heritage.
In a big move for women’s empowerment, PM Modi also released over Rs 450 crore in benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) to more than 15 lakh women. This scheme supports new mothers with direct cash transfers: Rs 5,000 for the first child and Rs 6,000 for the second daughter.
“So far, 4.5 crore women have benefited from PMMVY, with over Rs 19,000 crore deposited straight into their bank accounts,” PM Modi said. “Today, with just one click, Rs 450 crore reached 15 lakh women—empowering families and strengthening India’s future.”
These initiatives show PM Modi’s focus on women-led development and cultural pride, making his 75th birthday a day of real impact for millions.
