IIM Jammu Teams Up with ICMAI for Boost in Management Education and Training
In a big move for education in Jammu, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has joined hands with The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI). They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday to supercharge management education, research, and professional skills.
This partnership brings together two top institutions to create exciting opportunities. They plan to team up on Management Development Programmes (MDPs), specialized training, executive education, and faculty development. Expect joint efforts in research collaborations, seminars, conferences, workshops, curriculum design, and sharing academic resources. It’s all about building a stronger ecosystem for cost accounting and management training in India.
The signing ceremony happened at IIM Jammu, with key figures like Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu; CMA Navneet Kumar Jain, Council Member of ICMAI; and CMA Dr. Debaprosanna Nandy, Officiating Secretary of ICMAI, in attendance. Rajesh Talwar, Director Finance from the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, also joined the event. Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran (R), Chief Administrative Officer of IIM Jammu, and CMA Dr. Debaprosanna Nandy put pen to paper, while senior officials and faculty from both sides watched.
Prof. B.S. Sahay shared his excitement, saying this MoU fits perfectly with IIM Jammu’s goal of blending academic excellence, innovative research, and real-world executive education. "It will strengthen ties between us and help train leaders with the skills to tackle today’s fast-changing economy," he added. He believes it will benefit students, professionals, and society for years to come.
CMA Navneet Kumar Jain called it a smart step for advancing professional education in cost and management accounting. "By pooling resources, research, and training methods, we’ll fill key skill gaps and keep professionals ahead in the business world," he said. The tie-up will push efficiency, innovation, and lifelong learning across industries.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean of Faculty and Research at IIM Jammu, pointed out how this will boost their research setup, improve course designs, and spark new ideas. "These partnerships link classroom learning to real industry needs, so our graduates can make a real impact," he noted. The MoU opens doors for joint research projects, faculty exchanges, and shared resources.
