Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi urged leaders from 30 countries to join a new Indo‑Pacific maritime forum in a video speech on Monday. He called the event a chance to create a safer, stronger, and more prosperous sea‑borne world.
The three‑day Indo‑Pacific Regional Dialogue 2025 began on Monday in New Delhi. It is the biggest international conference on maritime strategy, diplomacy, and cooperation in the region. The dialogue, hosted by the Indian Navy and backed by the National Maritime Foundation, will host experts, naval commanders, and policymakers from around the globe.
Admiral Tripathi said that the dialogue has become a “premier platform” where nations can share ideas and explore new ways to work together. He highlighted India’s new maritime vision, #MAHASAGAR – Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth across Regions – and said it puts capacity‑building at the center of regional progress. “Capacity building and capability enhancement are the heart of our security strategy,” he added.
He praised the forum’s theme, “Promoting Holistic Maritime Security and Growth Through Regional Capacity‑Building and Capability‑Enhancement.” The Admiral said the theme matched the changing realities of the Indo‑Pacific, where climate change, sea‑borne threats, and supply‑chain shocks are reshaping security needs.
“Let’s build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous maritime order together,” Admiral Tripathi urged the audience.
The dialogue will cover key topics:
– Capacity building and capability enhancement
– Maritime security and strategic coordination
– Blue‑economy growth
– Climate resilience and disaster preparedness
– Technology, connectivity, and future infrastructure
Spokespersons say the conference will bring fresh ideas and stronger partnerships to meet the region’s challenges. Dr. Arun Shankar, a naval attaché, noted that the event gathers government officials, industry leaders, and scholars to discuss how to keep the Indo‑Pacific secure and thriving.
