Infighting in Trinamool as Minister Siddiqullah Chowdhury slams party leader over attack on his vehicle

TMC Faces Internal Clash in West Bengal Over Minister’s Vehicle Attack

In a heated development in Kolkata, tensions are boiling over within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party. West Bengal Minister Siddiqullah Chowdhury has openly lashed out at a senior TMC leader following a shocking attack on his vehicle. This infighting in Trinamool Congress highlights growing rifts among party members, especially in East Burdwan district.

The drama unfolded after TMC workers targeted Chowdhury’s convoy in the Monteswar area. They vandalized his car, leading to arrests of several party workers. Now, Chowdhury, who serves as the State Mass Education Extension and Library Services Minister, has pointed fingers directly at Monteswar Panchayat Samiti president Ahmed Hossain Sheikh.

Speaking to reporters, Chowdhury didn’t hold back. "If Siddiqullah Chowdhury is killed, a thousand more Siddiqullahs will rise," he declared. He recalled his battles against the previous CPI(M) government in Bengal, which the TMC successfully overthrew. "It won’t take long to uproot a single leader like this," he added, clearly warning Sheikh.

Chowdhury accused Sheikh of oppressing party workers and egging them on to attack senior leaders and ministers. "If you keep instigating attacks, the people will uproot such leaders themselves," he said. He even issued a stern message: "Control yourself, or you’ll harm yourself. The party will break the hands and legs of troublemakers—no need for a minister’s advice."

This strong stance from the West Bengal minister could spark even more infighting in Trinamool Congress, raising questions about party unity ahead of key elections. Chowdhury urged ordinary party workers and the public to report any threats from leaders directly to him. "No one is above the party. Everyone must follow their leaders," he emphasized.

He went on to say, "Get our phone number and call if a leader scolds or threatens you. I want to see what kind of ‘stature’ this leader has! Such big rivalries won’t be tolerated. Do wrong, and you’ll face punishment."

So far, Ahmed Hossain Sheikh and the Trinamool Congress leadership have stayed silent on the minister’s fiery remarks. As this TMC internal conflict brews, all eyes are on how the party handles the fallout from the vehicle attack and the escalating war of words. Stay tuned for updates on West Bengal politics and Trinamool Congress news.
