The Uttarakhand government said the special one‑person commission led by the late Justice UC Dhyani finished its first report on the alleged cheating in the UKSSSC exam. The commission met with thousands of candidates, heard witnesses and sifted through evidence before handing the findings to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday.
Dhami praised the quick turnaround, noting the team had held extensive public hearings and taken input from everyone affected. He said the state will look closely at the report and act to protect the interests of the candidates. “We want to make sure all students get a fair chance,” he told reporters.
The chief minister also confirmed that the government is already pushing for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. “A recommendation for a CBI investigation has been made to guarantee complete fairness,” Dhami said. He added that the government remains committed to keeping Uttarakhand’s recruitment exams honest and transparent.
Earlier, Dhami had reacted to the leak of the UKSSSC exam paper. He said authorities had arrested those suspected of wrongdoing and set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to track the entire process. “We’re determined to stop any injustice against our state’s youth,” he emphasized.
Dhami also hit back at opposition parties. He accused them of turning the exam scandal into a political tool and of stirring unrest by putting students in the spotlight. “Those who once questioned the need for CBI and ED investigations now want it rushed for political gains,” he said.
The UKSSSC graduate‑level exam, held on September 21, 2025, saw many candidates raise questions about its fairness. The commission’s inquiry and the potential CBI probe are steps the government says will restore faith in Uttarakhand’s recruitment process.
