Bengaluru, the heart of India’s tech scene, just got a big boost from a global giant. On Wednesday, Karnataka Industries Minister MB Patil joined British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron and Rolls-Royce CFO Helen McCabe to kick off the company’s shiny new Global Capability and Innovation Centre in the city.
This state-of-the-art facility will be a hub for Rolls-Royce’s global digital teams and enterprise services. It will also support engineering experts working on civil aerospace and defence projects, putting Bengaluru even more on the map for aerospace innovation in India.
At the inauguration, Minister MB Patil praised Rolls-Royce as one of the oldest and most trusted partners in building India’s aerospace ecosystem. “From starting with licensed engine production alongside Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to equipping India’s armed forces and now driving cutting-edge digital innovation and engineering from Bengaluru—it’s a tale of trust, teamwork, and shared success,” Patil said.
He congratulated the team and added, “This new centre will house a talented group powering Rolls-Royce’s worldwide operations. The Karnataka government is all in—offering supportive policies, top-notch infrastructure, and a smooth business environment to fuel such growth.”
Helen McCabe, Rolls-Royce’s CFO, echoed the excitement. “India plays a huge role in our global push for innovation and progress. This expanded Global Capability and Innovation Centre is our biggest hub yet, showing our deep commitment to the country. We’re eager to grow local skills, nurture talent, and build stronger partnerships here.”
As Rolls-Royce expands its presence in India, McCabe emphasized their goal: “We’re focused on creating a forward-thinking ecosystem where we team up with local experts to solve problems and deliver real value for customers in India and around the world.”
This move highlights Bengaluru’s rising status as a key player in global aerospace and defence innovation, drawing more investments and jobs to Karnataka.
