Shocking Murder in Karnataka: Mother and Lover Arrested for Killing 4-Year-Old Daughter
In a heartbreaking case from Haveri, Karnataka, police have arrested a mother and her lover for allegedly murdering her four-year-old daughter. The incident came to light on Sunday, leaving locals stunned.
According to reports, the woman suffocated her young daughter to death and then burned the body near the Tunga Upper River Project canal in Kuragunda village, Haveri taluk. Local residents spotted the suspicious scene and quickly alerted the authorities. Officers from Guttala police station rushed to the spot and initially cremated the girl as an unidentified child.
Karnataka Police say the motive behind this tragic child murder was the couple’s illicit relationship. The little girl, who lived with her mother during an ongoing divorce from her husband of 17 years, apparently became an obstacle to their plans. The mother had been hiding the truth from the father, claiming the child was in Mysore and feeling unwell. She dodged his questions for a whole month.
Things unraveled when the worried father went to the city police station and urged PSI Guddappa Gunjutagi to help find his daughter. The officer promised quick action if anything was wrong. During questioning, the mother, identified as Gangamma, and her lover confessed to the horrific crime.
