In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma praised the Namo Yuva Run campaign on Sunday. He said Kashmir’s youth are joining the marathon with high hopes for Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, believing that India’s growth will boost their region’s progress too.
Sharma highlighted how events like this motivate young people to steer clear of drugs. Speaking to reporters, he explained that the marathon is part of Sewa Pakhwada, a series of programs tied to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. “It started with blood donation camps, moved to medical checkups and cleanliness drives, and now we’re energizing youth through this run,” Sharma noted. He added that it points the younger generation in the right direction and helps them avoid addiction. With drug trafficking trying to creep in from other countries, Sharma stressed that India’s government policies will crack down hard to protect future generations.
At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kicked off the Namo Yuva Run in Lucknow. He shared exciting updates on key initiatives and the dream of a stronger, developed India during the Sewa Pakhwada events. Yogi pointed out that this two-week program, running from PM Modi’s birthday on September 17 to Mahatma Gandhi’s on October 2, focuses on health and getting youth involved.
The Namo Yuva Run is a countrywide push by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) to spread fitness and social awareness. It launched on September 7, with supermodel and fitness star Milind Soman as its ambassador. BJP MP and BJYM chief Tejasvi Surya earlier announced that the run honors PM Modi’s birthday and will happen at 75 spots across India on September 21, drawing thousands of young participants.
