Bengaluru’s BJP is gearing up for a big cultural milestone. The Karnataka unit’s cultural wing, Jagannath Balaga, is hosting the 100th edition of the ‘Masada Madhurya’ programme on September 28 at the Telugu Vijnana Samithi Auditorium. This event aims to celebrate and boost the state’s rich cultural heritage, bringing people together through art, dance, and literature.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA C.N. Ashwath Narayan shared exciting details at a press conference. The day kicks off with a vibrant Shobha Yatra procession starting at 9:30 a.m. from the BJP State Office. Teams from various parts of Karnataka will join in, making it a statewide affair. The official inauguration happens at 10:30 a.m., followed by an exhibition highlighting highlights from the first 99 ‘Masada Madhurya’ events.
Ashwath Narayan emphasized how culture shapes our identity. “Our culture unites us in diversity,” he said. “BJP strongly supports promoting it, which is why we launched ‘Masada Madhurya’ back in 2014. We’re celebrating the 100th edition in a grand way to honor this legacy.” He drew inspiration from former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a poet and leader whose speeches blended shayari with politics. “Vajpayee’s character inspires us all—art, politics, and culture come alive in events like this,” he added.
The programme began on November 1, 2014, with Master Hiranyayya inaugurating it. Now, renowned teams from across the state will perform, focusing on traditional arts, folk dances, and literary tributes. At the event, organizers unveiled a special logo for the 100th celebration and screened a short film tracing the journey of ‘Masada Madhurya’.
Things heat up at 11 a.m. with the main gathering, where BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra, Union Ministers, and other leaders will speak. Expect discussion forums on key topics. From 12 p.m. to 12:35 p.m., a play will showcase the birth and growth of the BJP. Later, sessions will explore art’s role in nationalism and nation-building. Stand-up comedian Raghavendra Achar will add some laughs, alongside cultural performances and felicitation ceremonies.
The grand finale features big names like former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santosh, former Chief Ministers Jagadish Shettar, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, and Basavaraj Bommai, ex-BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel, Core Committee Member Nirmal Kumar Surana, Masada Madhurya State Coordinator Dattaguru Hegde, and BJP Art and Cultural Cell State Coordinator Roopa Iyer.
In other news, Ashwath Narayan announced that the BJP will mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 with special events. They’ve even released a dedicated song to celebrate the occasion. This ‘Masada Madhurya’ milestone promises to be a heartfelt tribute to Karnataka’s cultural vibrancy and BJP’s commitment to it.
