Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal fired back hard on Sunday against what he called an outrageous insult to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother. The remark reportedly came during a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) rally led by Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar.
Talking to reporters in Patna, Jaiswal accused RJD leaders of losing all control. “They used such harsh words against PM Modi’s mother at Tejashwi Yadav’s rally under the INDIA alliance banner,” he said. “Even if one of your workers said it, if you don’t trust your own people anymore, it shows your leadership has gone wild.”
The controversy erupted after Union Minister Nityanand Rai posted a video on X (formerly Twitter). It shows an unidentified man hurling derogatory abuse at PM Modi right in front of Tejashwi Yadav during an RJD public meeting in Bihar. Rai, a BJP leader, didn’t hold back. He compared Tejashwi to villains from Indian mythology—Kans and the serpent Kaliya Naag—and warned that Bihar voters would crush him in the next state assembly elections.
“Tejashwi Yadav’s goons have sinned big time by insulting PM Narendra Modi and his respected mother in his presence,” Rai told reporters. “They keep attacking PM Modi and his mother, spreading poison like Kaliya Naag. Bihar’s people will finish you off with their votes, just like Krishna defeated Kansa.”
This isn’t the first time Bihar politics has heated up over personal attacks on PM Modi. Just weeks ago, a similar scandal broke out during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in the state, where people allegedly abused the prime minister and his mother.
Adding to the BJP’s outrage, Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari slammed both Congress and RJD for stooping so low. “It’s sad and shameful that these parties have blinded themselves with dirty politics,” Ansari said in an interview. “Bihar’s voters have rejected them completely, so now they’re hitting PM Modi’s personal life from public stages. This is the level of petty games they’re playing.”
