A dramatic fire erupted at a petroleum company in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on Sunday when lightning struck a petrol tank. Officials confirmed there were no casualties in this shocking incident, but huge flames lit up the sky near Visakhapatnam Port.

The blaze started at East India Petroleum Limited’s facility after lightning hit a petrol filter tank. Even as rain poured down, the fire raged fiercely, creating a tense scene. Firefighters quickly arrived with tenders and managed to douse the flames, preventing any major damage. Senior officials rushed to the site to check the situation and ensure everything was under control.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V. Anitha got involved right away. She called up senior Fire Services Department officials to assess the fire accident and assured the public that the situation was handled. "The fire is under control, and there’s no need to panic," she said, calming worried residents.

Lightning Strikes Cause Havoc in Vizianagaram District

The bad weather didn’t stop there. Lightning also hit several spots in neighboring Vizianagaram district, leading to tragic losses. In Kondagangupudi village of Vepada mandal, at least 30 sheep died when a bolt struck them. Meanwhile, three people suffered injuries in Munupurai village of S. Kota mandal. These lightning incidents highlight the dangers of sudden storms in the region.

Heavy Rains Flood Warangal in Telangana, Stranding Passengers

Over in Telangana, heavy rains battered Warangal town on Sunday, turning streets into rivers and disrupting daily life. The downpour, which lasted about an hour, flooded low-lying areas and brought traffic to a standstill. Motorists struggled through the chaos, and locals pointed fingers at the poor drainage system for worsening the flooding.

In a scary moment, two buses from the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) got stuck in floodwater under a railway bridge.
