In Yavatmal, Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared exciting updates on tribal development schemes during a big event on Saturday. He highlighted how the Central government is pouring Rs 1 lakh crore into initiatives to bring tribal communities into the mainstream of India’s growth story.
Speaking at the launch of development projects worth Rs 335 crore, Fadnavis promised a massive transformation in tribal lives over the next three years. “We’re rolling out key facilities like houses, roads, electricity, water supply, hostels, and job opportunities right here in Maharashtra,” he said, keeping the tone upbeat and hopeful.
The CM outlined ambitious plans to fast-track essentials for the tribal community. This includes building homes for 54,000 families, setting up piped water systems, constructing hospitals for better healthcare, and creating more hostels. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tribal development schemes are already delivering big wins,” Fadnavis added. For instance, under the Adi Karmayogi Yojana, 366 villages in Yavatmal district have been picked for special focus. The program will train 30 lakh youth across the state, helping build strong local leadership and boost skills for better jobs.
Fadnavis also tackled youth employment head-on. The government is speeding up a time-bound drive to clear pending compassionate recruitment applications, paving the way for nearly 15,000 young people to get jobs.
On the energy front, he spotlighted a new 35 MW solar power project that’s powering agriculture with 12 hours of electricity daily. “Farmers will soon get free power for 10 hours a day,” he assured, adding that Yavatmal won’t face any funding shortages for citizen needs.
Addressing recent woes in the district, Fadnavis committed to quick compensation for crop damage, homes, and livestock losses caused by tough weather. It’s a relief for locals hit hard by these setbacks.
The Rs 335 crore projects kicked off include Rs 51 crore worth of Tribal Development Department works, like five new hostels; Rs 67 crore from the Public Works Department; Rs 158 crore for 11 solar power initiatives under the Chief Minister’s Solar Energy Scheme; and Rs 59 crore from other departments. These steps aim to uplift Yavatmal’s tribal areas and drive real progress.
