In a special tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta announced the launch of the annual Ladakh Young Achievers Awards on Wednesday. This exciting initiative aims to celebrate the talents of young stars from the Union Territory of Ladakh who shine in various fields and inspire others.
The awards will spotlight youngsters who excel in areas like sports, arts, science, and more, turning them into role models for the community. Each winner gets a cash prize, and the honors will be handed out every year on Republic Day, making it a highlight of the celebrations.
Gupta shared that this move aligns perfectly with PM Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat—a developed India by 2047. “We want to motivate our youth to pour their energy into the nation’s growth and help build a stronger future,” he said. The Ladakh administration plans to roll out full details soon, including award categories, how selections work, and the application process.
Gupta added, “This is our way to cheer on Ladakh’s young achievers who are making waves in their fields and boosting India’s progress.” It’s a great step to recognize homegrown talent and fuel ambition among the region’s youth.
On the same day, the Dalai Lama sent heartfelt birthday wishes to PM Modi, praising India’s rapid development. As India’s longest-staying guest, the spiritual leader noted, “I’ve seen the amazing growth and prosperity firsthand. I congratulate you on the rising confidence and strength—India’s success lifts the whole world.”
