Mumbai, September 11: In the middle of heated protests over Maratha and OBC reservations in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stepped up efforts to support youth empowerment. On Thursday, he made it clear that every scheme from the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation should reach the right people without any delays.
Pawar stressed the need for transparent and effective execution of these programs. He wants as many deserving beneficiaries as possible to benefit from them. During a key review meeting, he also checked on the progress of the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training, and Human Development Institute, known as SARTHI.
The Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation focuses on boosting self-employment for Maratha youth. It offers guidance, training, and financial help to get them started in business or startups. Meanwhile, SARTHI works hard to uplift Maratha, Kunbi, and related communities. It provides research support, skill-building programs, and advice for students, entrepreneurs, farmers, and women aiming for self-reliance and better lives.
Pawar directed officials to remove all roadblocks in delivering scheme benefits. He insisted on careful selection of genuine beneficiaries to ensure quick financial aid. “These initiatives from the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation spark interest in business, industry, and entrepreneurship among the youth,” Pawar said. “They open doors to more self-employment opportunities and fuel economic growth across Maharashtra.”
He pushed the administration to show real results at the village level through smart implementation. Pawar highlighted the corporation’s main goal: helping educated but jobless youth from weaker economic backgrounds. Key schemes include the Individual Loan Interest Subsidy Scheme, Group Loan Interest Subsidy Scheme, and Group Project Loan Scheme. “We must run these transparently and spread the word widely so the needy can access them easily,” he added.
Pawar also looked into SARTHI’s ongoing work, like student skill development, scholarships, coaching for competitive exams, research projects, Swadhar Yojana, overseas study grants, and hostel facilities. He put a big emphasis on prioritizing skill training for a brighter future. “There will be no shortage of funds for children’s education and growth,” Pawar assured.
With Maratha reservation protests making headlines, these steps aim to bring real change through youth development and economic support in Maharashtra.
