Nashik School Bomb Threat Turns Out to Be Hoax: Police Confirm Safety
A private school in Nashik, Maharashtra, got a scary bomb threat early Monday morning, but police and the bomb squad quickly stepped in and found nothing suspicious. The school is now confirmed safe, said Police Inspector Trupti Sonawane.
The threat came through a fake email address around 2:45 AM to the Indiranagar Police Station. It claimed a bomb was hidden in the bathroom of Nasik Cambridge High School on Vada Pathri Road. As soon as the school administration alerted the cops, they followed all standard procedures and called in the bomb squad for a full search.
"We’re working hard to trace that fake email," Inspector Sonawane told . No dangerous items turned up, and the school is back to normal. The investigation continues, with the cyber police helping track down the sender.
More updates are expected as the probe goes on.
This isn’t an isolated case. Just a few days earlier, on September 12, the Bombay High Court in Mumbai faced a similar hoax bomb threat via email. Lawyers and staff had to evacuate the premises right away, causing quite a stir.
Mumbai Police wasted no time and filed an FIR against an unknown person at the Azad Maidan Police Station. They charged them under sections 353(1) and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These laws target people who spread fake news or alarming info online to create public mischief, stir up trouble between groups, or even influence military personnel to skip their duties.
Advocate Mangala Waghe shared with , "The Bombay High Court got a bomb threat that day, so everyone left the building. Police are looking into it now."
Authorities have launched a full investigation into the high court incident too. Hoax bomb threats like these are on the rise, and police urge everyone to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity right away.
