Tejashwi Yadav Pushes for Women’s Empowerment in Bihar with Mai-Bahin Maan Scheme
In a lively event in Madhubani, Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav joined the Mai-Bahin Maan Program on Sunday. He shared his thoughts on X, highlighting how this scheme aims to empower women across the state. "The main goal of the Mai-Bahin Maan Scheme is to make every woman self-reliant, happy, prosperous, healthy, and more comfortable in their daily lives," Yadav posted. He called it a big step to fight poverty in Bihar and boost gender equality.
Yadav connected directly with the crowd, emphasizing his party’s plans. "I talked with the women at the Mai-Bahin Maan Program in Madhubani," he said on X. "When our government takes charge, we’ll give every mother and sister in Bihar Rs 2,500 every month under this scheme. It will help them become self-reliant, bring joy and wealth, improve health, and ease their struggles. This Mai-Bahin Maan Scheme will cut down poverty, promote women’s rights, and build stronger social and economic futures for those on the margins."
Shifting gears, Yadav didn’t hold back when speaking to reporters in Patna. He took a sharp dig at the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar, saying they lack any real direction. "This NDA government has no vision at all. We have clear ideas, and we’re sharing them openly. If they have a vision, they should speak up," he remarked.
Yadav also fired off criticism at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming Bihar visit on September 15. He mocked it as a "jumla ki barish" – a shower of empty promises. "The PM is coming but won’t touch real issues. He’ll just talk about infiltrators, not Bihar’s development or helping the poor," Yadav told reporters. He even invited Modi to check out the ground reality. "He’s heading to Purnea – why not visit the medical college there too? And take my uncle (CM Nitish Kumar) along. He’ll see the truth for himself."
Modi’s Purnea trip includes a big public rally at Shishabari village, drawing crowds from Purnea, Katihar, Araria, and Kishanganj districts. A highlight? He’ll launch the National Makhana Board to support Bihar’s makhana farmers. This board will boost production with new tech, improve storage and processing, and help with marketing, exports, and branding – all to benefit farmers nationwide.
As Bihar gears up for more political buzz, Yadav’s focus on women’s schemes like Mai-Bahin Maan and his jabs at the NDA keep the spotlight on key issues like poverty reduction and Bihar development.
