Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is currently in the UK on an official visit, and he recentlypaid tribute to two important landmarks that represent social justice and progressive ideas.
First, Stalin visited the historic Dr. B.R. Ambedkar House in London. This is the place where Dr. Ambedkar, the chief architect of India’s Constitution and a champion of social equality, lived while studying at the London School of Economics. Sharing his feelings on social media, Stalin said walking through Ambedkar’s London home filled him with respect and reverence. He remembered how this was where a young man, once oppressed by caste in India, studied hard, gained respect in London, and went on to create a new vision for India’s future. Stalin also highlighted a rare photo he saw of a conversation between social reformers Thanthai Periyar and Dr. Ambedkar—an inspiring moment for him. He concluded his post with “Grateful for this inspiring moment. Jai Bhim,” reflecting his respect for Ambedkar’s legacy.
The Ambedkar House in London remains a powerful symbol of Babasaheb’s journey from social injustice to intellectual leadership. It attracts visitors from around the world who are inspired by his fight against caste discrimination and his role in shaping modern India.
Later, Stalin visited the memorial of Karl Marx, a famous philosopher and socialist thinker, located in Highgate Cemetery. Marx’s ideas have inspired many around the globe, especially in workers’ movements. Stalin quoted Marx’s famous words, “The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways. The point, however, is to change it,” emphasizing how Marx wanted us to take action for social change. Stalin called Marx the “Red Sun,” praising his influence on global struggles for equality and workers’ rights.
Through these visits, Stalin paid homage to the legends who fought for justice and equality—values that continue to inspire millions across the world today.
