In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has big plans for farmers and youth this Wednesday. He’ll transfer a whopping Rs 337.12 crore bonus straight into the bank accounts of 6.69 lakh paddy farmers with just one click. This comes under the state’s popular farmer welfare scheme, giving growers Rs 4,000 per hectare when they sell their paddy at the Minimum Support Price, or MSP.
The event kicks off at the Agricultural Produce Market in Katangi town, Balaghat district—a region known for its tribal communities. Expect a big crowd of farmers and young people to show up and join the excitement.
Chief Minister Yadav isn’t stopping there. He’ll hand out appointment letters to 4,315 new recruits, helping boost jobs for Madhya Pradesh youth. Plus, he’ll inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 75 key development projects in Balaghat, all valued at Rs 244 crore. These initiatives aim to improve local infrastructure and support community growth.
Once the Balaghat program wraps up, Yadav heads to Jabalpur before flying to New Delhi at 5 p.m. This marks his third straight day visiting the capital.
On Tuesday, the chief minister joined a high-level meeting in New Delhi to tackle Madhya Pradesh’s key issues. He chatted with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel about water matters. Yadav highlighted the state’s strong strides in water conservation and management, including robust irrigation systems that deliver water to every household.
He urged the Central government for full backing on Madhya Pradesh’s water prosperity drive, which focuses on sustainable water use across the state.
Yadav also met Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to discuss pressing agriculture challenges, like better support for farmers during paddy procurement seasons.
In another key talk, the chief minister sat down with Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to outline plans for raising the OBC reservation quota in state government jobs from 14 percent to 27 percent. This move could open more doors for Other Backward Classes candidates in Madhya Pradesh recruitments.
