The National Commission for Women (NCW) has announced a two‑day public hearing called “National Commission for Women – At Your Doorstep” to bring justice closer to women in the Greater Noida area. The event will run on November 13 and 14, 2025, starting each day at 11 a.m. from the School of Management at Gautam Buddha Nagar University in Uttar Pradesh.
Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, together with agency members, will lead the hearings. Local officials—including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other senior law‑enforcement officers from Gautam Buddha Nagar—will join the session to solve complaints immediately on the spot.
The programme is aimed at tackling long‑pending cases and giving quick relief to women who face domestic violence, workplace harassment, dowry disputes, property‑rights violations or any form of gender‑based discrimination. Women living in Gautam Buddha Nagar and nearby districts such as Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, and parts of the Delhi NCR are encouraged to come forward and voice their problems directly to the Commission.
In a statement, the NCW said it is committed to making justice faster and more accessible. “We want every woman to know that the Commission stands with her,” a senior officer said. Cases that need legal action will be fast‑tracked with help from local police and district authorities, and the Commission will set up follow‑up mechanisms to ensure that resolutions are implemented.
The NCW is urging community groups, resident welfare associations, and women’s self‑help groups to mobilise people to attend the hearing, helping the initiative reach the biggest number of women possible. This event follows a series of New Delhi‑led actions to decentralise grievance redressal and strengthen the enforcement of women’s rights in both urban and semi‑urban areas.
With rising reports of gender‑based violence in the NCR, the hearing is expected to attract many participants and could become a model that other districts might copy.
