New Delhi, Oct 24 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to win a landslide in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He will kick off the BJP’s campaign in Samastipur, the birthplace of former Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, and will pay tribute to the late leader.
On X, Modi posted a tribute to Karpoori Thakur, noting that the government had posthumously awarded him the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour. The former socialist leader is remembered for his work on social justice and policies that set up reservations for backward classes in Bihar.
The Prime Minister also announced two large public rallies in the state. “The enthusiasm and excitement of the people of Bihar show that the NDA is headed for a resounding victory in the Assembly elections,” Modi wrote. He will speak in locals’ meetings on Friday in Samastipur, and again on October 30 in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will stage two big rallies on Friday as well, one in Siwan and another in Buxar. BJP state officials have finished the preparations for both leaders’ visits and are coordinating with local units to secure large crowds.
The rallies are expected to heat up the political atmosphere in Bihar and accelerate the NDA’s campaign. Elections will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting slated for November 14.
