New Delhi, Nov. 14 – In the hot‑seat of Bihar’s political showdown, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) looks set to land a tidy victory in the state’s assembly elections. JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan was upbeat on Friday, telling reporters that the first round of votes already pointed to an “outstanding win” for the NDA. “A New Delhi‑backed NDA government will form again. Nitish Kumar will become Chief Minister and the opposition will be completely finished,” Ranjan said.
BJP’s own candidate, Raju Kumar Singh, echoed the optimism. “Everyone knows we will come out victorious in the counting. We have served the people for twenty years and will keep doing so,” he added.
Counting is underway across all 243 assembly seats in Bihar. The process kicked off at 8 a.m. with postal ballot tallies, followed by a 30‑minute Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) count at 8:30 a.m. The state’s 46 counting centres, spread over 38 districts, are shrouded in tight security. Interior guards from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) secure strongrooms and counting halls, while the outer perimeter is monitored by Bihar Police and local units. More than 106 outside security companies have been deployed, and EVMs and VVPATs are watched by 24/7 CCTV since polling ended.
The Election Commission has made sure the count is transparent. Candidates and their authorized agents can view the area outside the inner security line, and all protocols for postal, EVM, and VVPAT verification are strictly followed.
Bihar’s people—and the nation—are watching closely. As votes come in, the results will decide whether Nitish Kumar’s NDA reins in the next term or if the opposition can make a comeback. Security, fairness and procedural rigor remain top priorities amid this high‑stakes contest.
