NDA’s C.P. Radhakrishnan Set for Victory in Vice Presidential Election: BJP Leaders Confident

As the Vice Presidential election kicks off today, Tuesday, senior BJP leaders are buzzing with excitement over their nominee C.P. Radhakrishnan’s strong chances against the opposition’s B. Sudarshan Reddy. This high-stakes Vice Presidential poll in India has everyone talking, especially with the NDA holding a clear edge.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was spotted heading to Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal’s residence just before the voting starts. The scene was lively, with other big names showing up too—like actor-turned-MP Ravi Kishan, senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan, and well-known public prosecutor-turned-MP Ujjwal Nikam. These MPs are gearing up for the big day.

Meanwhile, BJP MPs Medha Kulkarni, Bhagwat Karad, and Rambhai Mokariya gathered at senior BJP leader and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav’s home. It looks like the ruling coalition is putting in those final touches to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni couldn’t hide her enthusiasm. "C.P. Radhakrishnan is already a governor, and we really want him to win. The NDA candidate will definitely come out on top. Our entire plan is ready, and victory is ours for sure," she said.

BJP MP Bhagwat Karad chimed in with a simple take: "In this Vice Presidential election, the NDA has the majority—it’s straightforward."

Gujarat’s Rajya Sabha MP Rambhai Mokariya was even more pumped up. "C.P. Radhakrishnan is 100% going to win. He’s number 2 on the ballot paper. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, along with all MPs from Gujarat and Goa, will vote around 10 a.m. Radhakrishnan comes from the Sangh background, and he’ll do wonders for the nation’s growth."

Union Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary added to the optimism: "We’re super confident, and this win will mean a lot. The NDA will take it."

BJP MP Kali Charan Singh wrapped it up nicely: "Our NDA alliance candidate is winning this one."

So, how does this Vice Presidential election work? An electoral college of 781 members—542 from the Lok Sabha and 239 from the Rajya Sabha—will vote. You need 391 votes to hit the majority mark. The election became necessary after Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar stepped down in July due to health issues, leaving the post empty ever since.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to cast the first vote, while Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Ram Mohan Naidu, and Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde are the official election agents. With the BJP-led NDA’s strong numbers in both houses of Parliament, experts predict an easy win for Radhakrishnan. Still, the opposition INDIA bloc hopes for some surprise cross-voting to spice things up.

The outcome of this Vice Presidential election will play a key role in leading the Rajya Sabha, where the Vice President acts as the Chairman. Stay tuned as votes pour in—it’s a big moment for Indian politics!
