Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on a rally in Banka that the first phase of Bihar’s elections shows the NDA will return with a two‑thirds majority.
He reminded voters that the NDA has governed Bihar for 20 years under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and that the party’s record on development beats the opposition’s corruption claims.
Rajnath referenced the troubled times under a former RJD chief minister who spent years in jail. He said the current opposition leader also faces corruption cases that will likely be decided soon.
The minister highlighted Bihar’s progress. Roads, bridges, electricity and health services now reach every corner of the state, a sharp contrast to the days when police arrived only after roads were built.
He mentioned the health budget jump from Rs 700 crore to over Rs 20,000 crore, and the spread of electricity that has displaced old lanterns. Even the Metro rail has begun running, he noted.
Attacking the Congress, Rajnath said the party had once blocked rural road projects, a stance that Modi has overturned. “India is progressing quickly,” he added.
Speaking about Operation Sindoor, he warned neighboring countries that India will not tolerate any repeat attempts and that the operation remains ongoing. He stressed that the Indian Army’s only allegiance is to the uniform and cautioned the opposition against dividing the armed forces by religion or caste.
