New Delhi, Oct 5 – In a lively morning on Kartavya Path, NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal kicked off a children’s marathon titled “Bachhe Bole! Thank You Modi Ji.” The event, called the KidyWidy Divya Marathon 2025, celebrates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday and pushes kids to stay fit and healthy.
Chahal welcomed the run, saying it gives children a chance to build strong habits early on. “A marathon like this will motivate children to remain healthy,” he told reporters.
The marathon brought together thousands of kids aged 2‑8 and their parents. Organized by KidyWidy and the Divya Prayas Foundation, the run combined fun, charity and cleanliness efforts.
“Runs and cleanliness drives promote fitness and help under‑privileged children,” Chahal noted. He added that Prime Modi reminds everyone in his radio show “Mann Ki Baat” to cut cooking oil, a simple step toward a healthier nation.
KidyWidy founders Priya and Akshita Jain said the marathon’s goal is to teach children healthy eating, lower oil use, stop obesity and keep India clean and fit. Divya Prayas founder Sarika Jain highlighted the urgency: “Obesity now affects one in eight people and each child’s weight problem has tripled. Reducing oil by 10 % each month can make a big difference.”
She quoted WHO data showing 2.5 billion adults worldwide are overweight, stressing that collective action is essential for a Fit and Swachh Bharat.
In the end, the kids’ run on Kartavya Path proved that small, steady changes can help India stay healthier, cleaner, and more active.
